IN PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

A child was born. As he grew old and thought of happiness, he believed it to come from "school".While in school, he thought happiness as a derivative of being in college. In college, he considered happiness would come with his job. He got the job, but happiness was now being searched for in marriage. After marriage, rather than finding eternal happiness in being called "papa", happiness was seen in settling his children's lives. He grew old to realize that there was no time left for happiness. He died an unhappy man.
Happiness lies in the present moment. We should enjoy the journey and not the decided destination. we should be advised that the sense of  happiness rests inside ourselves. We can be happy as soon as we decide to be happy. Nobody has the power to make us happy or sad. Whenever we feel gloomy we always have somebody to put blame on, somebody who is responsible for our sorrows, but we overlook the fact that we are the ones who opted this despair for ourselves.
Life is always an amalgamation of bliss and misery. We have to face the ups and downs of life, then what is the use of troubling ourselves even more by remaining sad. We should affirm in life to "tackle any situation with a smile" and life will know that we are the inappropriate people to play with.
What help does it cause in remaining wretched even when we cannot minimize the pain we are going through. It is a proven fact that if we begin to utter theatrically that we are happy, slowly and gradually it inculcates happiness in us.
Being desolated for a long time instigates the feeling of cynicism in us and we are then governed by negative energies surrounding us. Ultimately it becomes our usual practice to stay depressed which can have grave consequences in future. Staying happy and cheerful and living every instant of life, or staying blue, dying every second and leading a forlorn life, the choice is yours.
Remember
"Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you."
